Swan Lake

Last night I had the great privledge of a girls night in Denver.  We drove down the mountain after work to take in a night at the ballet.  Performed in the Ellie Caulkins Opera House by the Colorado Ballet we enjoyed Swan Lake.

One of the greatest classical ballets of all time, Swan Lake was Tchaikovsky's first ballet, based on Russian folk tales.  It is a beautiful story that tells of the love between a young man and a girl that has been put under a spell and turned into a swan.  The only way the spell can be broken is if a man, pure in heart, pledges his love to her.

The second and fourt acts were my favorite, watching the swans dance together.  It was a beautiful performance and I would highly recommend catching a performance before it's over.
